“Looking and seeing are two very different things,” said Phillippe Fouche as he kickstarted his talk at ID Symposium. The director of Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects (SAOTA), Fouche is known for his responsive design approach that seeks unique solutions aligned with client needs and contextual integration. With stunning images to go with his talk, Fouche exemplified some of SAOTA’s work, like a house built in the mountains. His ingenious perspectives and ways of looking at the world – through art, light, and life – inspired his lecture on how architects can interpret spaces and synthesise them in their architecture.
