“Design crosses disciplines,” said Dikshu Kukreja, and this is perhaps the most fitting way to describe this particular ID Symposium session. Four diverse panellists brought entirely different perspectives to the multifarious ways in which the art, practise, and enjoyment of design can take place. Kukreja explored how design can be a tool in uniting people together, while esteemed photographer Raghu Rai spoke to the philosophy and artistic etymology of design, the pursuit of creativity, and even shared incredible personal experiences. Fashion designer Nikhil Mehra described the meticulous attention paid to textile designs, while HH YKC Wadiyar shared how he is inspired by the aspirations about our collective ancestry, his gratitude in having inherited the Deccan’s rich cultural landscape, and his dedication to keeping that alive.
