Belgium’s renowned carpentry workshop Atelier Ternier is set to host an exhibition called “Crafting Connections” from August 30-September 29. Hosted at Surplus in Ghent, this group show will feature the work of independent design practices from the contemporary European circuit.

What makes “Crafting Connections” a fascinating exhibition is its inclusion of new and existing pieces that comprise everything from home furniture to small editions. Pivoting around the themes of collective creativity, innovative design and self-production, every participant has been chosen for their shared methodology in designing, producing and refining everyday life objects. Atelier Ternier believes that the balance between form, material and construction gives rise to seamless functionality, and it is this belief that inspired them to curate this specific display.
