Rigzin Wangmo Lachic, a Ladakhi entrepreneur, is redefining tourism by integrating sustainability with cultural preservation. After working in Japan and contributing to a startup in Delhi, she returned home to establish Dolkhar—a boutique stay that celebrates Ladakh’s architecture, crafts, and local ingredients while prioritising environmental responsibility. She also co-founded Hatti, a social enterprise supporting local artisans, serves as an advisor for sā Ladakh, and launched Tsas by Dolkhar, an initiative focused on sustainability in food and hospitality. Lachic has been a key advocate for policies that balance tourism growth with ecological and cultural sensitivity, earning recognition from global publications and networks.
