Deepak Srinath co-founded Phantom Hands, a craft and design-led furniture maker based in Bangalore, along with Aparna Rao, the company’s art director. The core of their practice is to explore the cosmopolitan modernism that evolved in South Asia in the second half of the twentieth century. Including both re-editions of mid-century designs from the region, as well as contemporary objects created in collaboration with acclaimed furniture and textile designers, Srinath recontextualises and carries forward the legacy of Indian design.
