Shimul Javeri Kadri is the founder of SJK Architects, a Mumbai-based, multi-disciplinary design firm renowned for its energy-conscious approach. Under Kadri’s direction, the 32-year-old firm has received several notable honours, including the most recent Prix Versailles Award, IIA Awards, WADE ASIA NATIONAL AWARDS and has also been shortlisted for INDE Awards (2022). Outside of SJK Architects, Kadri serves as a philanthropist through welfare programmes for women empowerment and education, including Mumbai’s Akshara, Save the Children India, and others. Her pratice is driven by the design philosophy of building in harmony with nature using natural materials, sunlight, wind, and cultural contexts.
