Rue Kothari studied Economics at the University of West London before pursuing a degree in Photography at University of the Arts, London. She was part of the Professional Photographic Practice at the London College of Printing Photography at Central Saint Martins School of Art.

Rue worked as Chief Assignment Editor for Landmark Media, before becoming Deputy Editor for HELLO! magazine’s Middle East edition in 2006. In September 2008, she was named Editor in Chief of Luxos UAE, a luxury lifestyle magazine.

In August 2011 Rue took up the position as Editor in Chief for Harper’s Bazaar Interiors. She is also the Fair Director for Downtown Design, Dubai’s premier luxury design and interiors fair.
