Ariane Ginwala, who has been practising interior design for over 20 years, founded this and that in 2016 that opens the door to both the history and future of Indian craft through furniture, fabric and beyond. Fascinated by the rich diversity of Indian craft and contemporary sculpture from across the world, her instinctual eye for detail found a match in an Ahmedabad carpentry workshop. There she created a space where design and craftsmanship constantly challenge each other, traversing geographies, cultures and materials. After winning the prestigious EDIDA award for multiple collections of interior products, this and that has carved a niche for itself in India’s design story.
