Mishcat Co aims to change the way people perceive sustainable luxury in the global design world, by upcycling leftover sari scraps into one-of-a-kind carpets; and using each as a starting point for a new, beautifully curated space. Working in rural areas across Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, the brand supports a network of independent artisans and weavers who, due to limitations, have not been able to move to bigger cities and work in large-scale production houses. As is the case with any canvas, the beauty of their carpets is that they can vary from artisan to artisan, and yarn to yarn. Each carpet celebrates the inconsistencies that cannot be replicated by a machine—thereby making all their products truly unique.
