Jaipur Rugs produces quality handcrafted contemporary floor coverings from wool and silk. The brand was set up in 1978 by Nand Kishore Chaudhary in Rajasthan with merely two looms and nine local weavers. It was the creative manifestations of these artisans that ignited his love for hand-woven carpets. Today, he has built an empire of what was once a small scale establishment. Jaipur Rugs have a presence in more than 45 countries. With an aim to provide a sustainable living to talented artisans, the brand has built a wide network of 40,000 artisans from 600 villages across India. Kavita Chaudhary heads the in-house design team, studying trends within parallel fields of design. Simultaneously, another team sets about acquiring the finest raw wool from 11 countries, including New Zealand and Turkey. All the carpets are primarily made from natural fibers like silk, wool, cotton, jute, hemp, making the rugs sustainable and perfectly fit for any living space. Apart from these, there is a selection of rugs made from recycled & eco-friendly materials like sari silk & undyed wool and silk yarn.
