Paul Hekkert is internationally recognised as a social scientist and leading authority in design methodology. He previously served as Professor of Form Theory at Delft University of Technology, shaping generations through influential teaching and the Vision in Product Design (VIP) methodology that emphasises long-term societal visions, emotional meaning, and behavioural impact. Invited by the Government of India in 2011 to contribute to a national design education report, he co-founded The Design Village, embedding a global vision of impact that continues to guide design pedagogy worldwide.
