Akshat Bhatt is the principal architect at Architecture Discipline, a practice founded in 2007. His studio aspires to create environments that foster happiness and a sense of optimism for the future. Having studied at the TVB School of Habitat Studies and the University of East London, Bhatt’s work follows a context-driven, rational approach to ideation, which is then developed by a highly technical outlook focusing on longevity and flexibility. Their work spans varied typologies, from interiors, residences, and workspaces to retail, hospitality, urban, and commercial projects. His portfolio also includes explorations in public art, installations, furniture, and product design. Some of Bhatt’s notable projects include the Discovery Centre, a town hall and sales office for Bhartiya City Township, Bangalore (2014), the Mohalla Clinics for the Government of Delhi, India’s first Residence in Mass Timber, Goa (2023), and many critical commissions for large-scale public spaces, including JDH, an urban regeneration project in the Walled City of Jodhpur.
