Miguel Leiro is a Madrid-based designer, curator, and educator committed to expanding the cultural value of design. After earning a bachelor’s in industrial design from Pratt Institute in New York, he established a practice in Madrid that specialises in products, interiors, branding, and creative direction, often integrating curatorial work. In 2020, Leiro founded MAYRIT, a biennial experimental design and architecture platform. Its third edition, held in May 2024, highlighted his dedication to fostering critical discourse in contemporary design. His writing, published in outlets like PIN-UP Magazine and ICON Design, explores the intersection of design, history, and culture. Miguel’s work has been exhibited internationally at Salone del Mobile, Maison & Objet, and Porto Design Biennale, earning awards such as the Rome Design Award and Maison&Objet Rising Talent Award. Currently, he is an educator at iE University and Elisava.
