At the much-anticipated session during India Design ID 2024, Peter Zumthor, the recipient of the prestigious Pritzker Prize, engaged in an enthralling conversation with architect Bijoy Jain. The discussion revolved around Zumthor’s expertise in designing public structures that foster community engagement and his profound dedication to enriching people’s lives through architecture.

Zumthor, known for his emotive approach to design, expressed his admiration for structures that embody a sense of permanence and belonging. He shared, “There is something beautiful about houses that don’t move. I have a lot of affection for something that belongs to a place and makes a place. I look at them, and think of how my grandmother’s uncle has looked at this piece. They have stayed with us for a little bit.”
