Aphorism – Threads That Imagine Tapestry by Advanced Nature is a portrayal of artistic revelation that delves into the chemistry of waste at a molecular level. It contains the observations we make daily or experience ourselves, coming to life as dynamic and artistic inventions. The collection is an amalgamation of nature, craftsmanship, and community. The gallery’s senior artist, Jesh Krishnamurthy, envisioned Advanced Nature to spearhead a shift toward sustainability in the industrial landscape. Aphorism is an extension of this promising purpose. At ID Mumbai 2024, this exhibition was given its own space in the ID Special Project pavilion. Supported by Greenlam Industries, this segment infused artistic innovation into the design show, bridging the gap between the design and art world and inducing conversations about how sustainable art can result in practical, feasible, and functional product design. Every member involved in the process plays a crucial role in underlining the value of traditional craftsmanship integrating with modern artistic forms.Â
Advanced Nature’s mission to transform eradicated and seemingly unusable waste into a resource, a piece of art and a glimpse into the future of recycling makes this process awe-inspiring. The spirit of this collection exudes these regenerative themes while valuing craftsmanship and community as much as sustainability. The concept ties in with Jesh Krishnamurthy’s values of Advanced Nature to build an immovable foundation of eco-conscious practices while celebrating the human bond with nature.
Chitter Chatter on the Wall
Vibrant use of cellulose waste, textile waste, wood waste, agricultural byproducts, brass, and farmed wood.
The eclectic piece Chitter Chatter on the Wall represents this ideology directly by showing us chaotic voices with individual stories that harmonise into a collective musical stream to show us the beauty of our shared experiences. These values reflected in the pieces also tie in with Advanced Nature’s work outside the display, where manufacturing is community-based, conscientious, and nurturing.Â
