The Bodice flagship store, designed by founder Ruchika Sachdeva, is a minimalist masterpiece that personifies the brand’s ethos of sustainable fashion. Located in the affluent neighbourhood of Vasant Kunj, the building—composed of a lucid glass façade and pared-back furnishings—is adjacent to the brand’s studio space on the same site. Blinds crafted from bamboo, triangular-frame rails of mango wood, and a curated selection of furniture pieces from their studio perfectly complement the brand’s natural garments and the plethora of trees that surround the open-plan store.

Designed to question the rapid, retail-driven world of modern fashion, the store is a testament to Bodice’s belief in longevity, craft, and quality. Much like the minimal and functional garments, which are fabricated from non-synthetic textiles like wool or silk and then dyed with natural pigments such as those sourced from indigo plants, the showroom is entirely environment-conscious in its material palette. “The glass sides allow for a clear view of the gardens, letting the greenery in and filling the space with natural light. Trees at either end of the building are partially embraced by the architectural layout while extending the store space to open views of the sky above,” the studio explains, expounding on the reason for choosing this ethereal site.
