Veeram Shah is the chief architect and founder of the multidisciplinary Ahmedabad firm Design ni Dukaan, which specialises in furniture, products, interior design, and architecture. He is also the co-founder and head of the organisations P.O.D. and Dotto-Objects of Curiosity. P.O.D., an acronym for Pieces of Desire, are both design studios focusing on product design. Shah’s design ideology draws inspiration from the works of Gandhi Raza, Murakami, and Kumar Gandharva, as well as modernists like Corbusier and Scarpa, and is culturally and contextually driven, rooted in travel experiences from quaint Indian towns. Under his supervision, the firm has been featured in various prominent publications and accredited as the winner of India’s Best Design Project 2020 and the IIID Design Excellence Awards 2019–20.
