A storyteller, scenographer, experience designer and installation artist, Sumant Jayakrishnan is the director of his eponymous design firm. Through his work, he transforms spaces and infuses beauty into various contexts worldwide through imagery, video mapping, calligraphy, lighting, performative art and installations. This comprises projects across multiple disciplines, such as theatre, dance, art, film, interiors, music, fashion, and festivals. Jayakrishnan is a recipient of the Charles Wallace India Trust Award (1994), the Sanskriti Award (2001), and the Fulbright Arts Fellowship (2002). Some of his renowned projects include art direction for Deepa Mehta’s film “Water”, stage & costume design for Tim Supple’s stage show “The Midsummer Night’s Dream”, conceptualising the NH7 music festival, the India Pavilion for London Design Biennale, and also India Art Fair. He has also designed conceptual events for Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Moschino, Dior, Steinmetz, Swarovski and Bulgari in India.
