Siddhartha Wig is a designer and architect who co-founded The Elements, a sustainable architecture firm based in New Delhi. Wig’s decades of expertise has made him renowned in the country as a reliable, ethically-minded architect. He has been on the visiting faculty at NID, TVB School of Habitat Studies, Chandigarh College of Architecture, and IET Bhaddai. An accomplished author and artist, he has also won numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to sustainable architecture. As co-partner of The Elements, he focuses on innovating socially relevant, cost effective, energy efficient architecture that incorporates solar passive designs and alternative construction materials. Besides residences, farmhouses, factories, auditoria, schools, campuses, recreational buildings, ‘green’ designs and commercial interiors works, their portfolio also includes varied projects like prison design, stage sets, book covers and mobile homes. Together, they started a furniture workshop “Studio Aranya”, which designs custom home and office furniture for select residential, retail and hospitality clients. Wig has been awarded the ‘Design Ideas Competition’ for Rural Primary School (sponsored by HUDCO & Hari Om Ashram Trust, 1998) and won the ‘National Design Competition’ for building a new sustainable office building (sponsored by HAREDA, 2008).
