Shonan Purie Trehan is the founder and principal architect at Language.Architecture.Body. (LAB), a Mumbai-based design studio established in 2010. Purie Trehan focuses on constructing relationships between personal narratives, social environments, and habitation requirements. LAB has completed over 57 projects across India, North America, and Africa. Their projects range from planning home-grown brands like Nicobar, Anita Dongre, and The Bombay Sweet Shop to large-scale healthcare planning projects like Medanta “The Medicity”. From added experience in permaculture design, Purie Trehan’s recent projects explore rammed-earth construction techniques across Vadodara and Bengaluru, reflecting a design philosophy of creating architectural interventions that integrate into larger ecosystem.
