Sebastian Herkner is a prominent German designer who founded his eponymous design studio, focusing on product and collectible design, in 2006. After studying product design at the HfG Offenbach University of Art and Design, Herkner worked for Stella McCartney in London, UK, developing his understanding of materials, colours, and textures. He went on to design furniture, lamps, and other products for renowned manufacturers such as Fritz Hansen, Poltrona Frau, Gubi, Moroso, Rosenthal, Cappellini, and many more. He was propelled to international acclaim when designing the Bell Table for ClassiCon. Since then, he has received numerous awards, including Designer of the Year at Masion&Objet in 2019 and the prestigious EDIDA Award for Best Designer of the Year in Milan in 2021. His designs are featured in the most significant design museums, including Die Neue Sammlung and Vitra Design Museum, highlighting his success in pairing traditional craftsmanship with contemporary technologies.
