Sarika Shetty is a partner at SJK Architects, a Mumbai-based architecture, interior design and master planning practice founded in 1990 by Shimul Javeri Kadri. Weaving together her interests in cultural histories, anthropology, and nature, her work cuts across typologies. It is marked by a deep commitment to creating evocative spaces that embody the cultural ethos of a place. Since 2001, she has led the design of multiple award-winning projects that exemplify the firm’s ethos of designing spaces attuned to climate, culture, history, technology, and, above all, communities. Notable projects include Nirvana Films Studio in Bengaluru (winner at the World Architecture Festival, 2012), the Dasavatara Hotel (2015) in Tirupati (winner at Pris Versailles 2016), and the JSW Sanjeevani Multispecialty Hospital in Alibaug (honoured in the UIA Guidebook for the 2030 Agenda for furthering the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 3 & The PLAN awards 2024).
