Sandeep Sangaru is a nomad in thought and a maker by hand, with exploration and observation shaping the rhythm of his work. A graduate of National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, he founded his multidisciplinary design atelier, Sangaru Design Studio and manufacturing firm, Sangaru Design Objects in Bengaluru. Collaborating with artisans across India, Sangaru embraces craft as a living, breathing conversation between people, places, and time, contemporising community practices such as Kashmiri pinjra kari and khatamband, Channapatna lacquerware, and northeastern bamboo techniques. As a designer and educator, he invites reflection through objects, spaces, and the quiet beauty of how things are made.
