A Londoner of Punjabi heritage, Rikki Kher has been working in textiles and fashion since 1993, and moved to India in 2004. Since then, he worked in garment production and sourcing for El Corte Ingles. In 2007, he set up his own buying office, and in 2013, he launched KARDO: a clothing brand that focuses on Indian craft textiles. Kher’s professional journey has encompassed roles in textile production, garment manufacturing, clothing retail, and wholesale sales. He has spent the last 20 years understanding the Indian subcontinent, garment and textile production and forging connections with the extraordinary artisan textile communities of India.
