She is the Publisher of Seminar, a prestigious monthly magazine of ideas and alternatives, founded by her parents—Raj and Romesh Thapar—in 1959. Author of several acclaimed books such as ‘Perpetual City: A Short Biography of Delhi,’ Singh has also been Associate Publisher of the Business India Group, Editor of The India Magazine and served as Vice Chairman of INTACH. A woman of several talents, she has also worked as a consultant with the Handlooms and Handicrafts Corporation of India and as a jewellery designer under the brand ‘Nigaar.’ She is also a Founder member of Rehwa Society, working to revive the Maheshwari sari in India, and is on the board of the National Culture Fund among others.
