The CEO & Creative Director of K2India, Kohelika Kohli believes that the job of an architect / interior designer cannot be simply based on one’s credentials. An equally important role is played by one’s experiences and exposures to people, places and cultures. Kohli received her formal education as an architect from the Pratt Institute of Design in New York and graduated in May 2004. After graduating she worked at the architectural and design firm, ‘Oliver Cope Architects’. Kohli then returned to India in 2004, and in October of that year, she started her own architectural firm, ‘Kohelika Kohli Architects’. Today, this is merged with her mother’s company, ‘Sunita Kohli Interior Designs Pvt. Ltd.’, under the umbrella of K2India.
Kohli and her team design and execute architectural and interior design projects – working in India, Sri Lanka, England and the USA. She also develops contemporary furniture for homes and hotels under her sister companies ‘Sunita Kohli & Company’ and ‘K2India’. At the prestigious India Design 2023 Design Exhibition, Kohelika Kohli launched her new brand of furniture, ‘KOKO by K2India’. All the items in this collection are sculptural, hand-crafted, stylish, elegant and functional. Each of Kohli’s companies are driven by the pursuit of excellence and quality; a strong belief that one’s surroundings directly influence the quality of one’s lives – whether in the workplace, at home, or the public spaces in between. As she is concerned with the physical context of a project, sensitive to the culture and climate of their place, she applies the same priorities to all the projects she undertakes.
