Japan’s largest-selling premium automobile brand follows a simple philosophy, outlined by Simon Humphries, Group Manager, Global Design Management—to be ‘technologically advanced yet humanised, to create striking design, but still be artistic and unpretentious.’ Iqrup Design, Iqrup Dhamija’s luxury architectural interior services and bespoke furniture brand, (Iqrup + Ritz) has designed a 3500 sqft showroom in Gurgaon for Lexus that epitomises this belief.
Matching the lofty standard set by Lexus’ other flagship outlets in Dubai and Tokyo, the space resembles a luxury fashion house or club, rather than a typical, minimalist car showroom. Warm dark woods, marble and brass feature prominently, complemented by the key design element—a ‘Lexus logo grid’ or jali design.
Keeping in mind Lexus’ design principles: Seamless anticipation, Craftsmanship and Connectivity, the space exudes hospitality and professionalism. Lounge and coffee areas on the ground and first floor, bookshelves and a fireplace create an ambience of comfort and warmth, while the meeting room for private discussions with the staff springboards the bespoke element of the luxury automobile industry.
