Innov8 by Chromed Design Studio is a haven of creativity for the contemporary workforce

Contemporary work culture demands creativity, free-flow and exchange of thoughts and ideas, and most importantly, a sense of comfort and belonging to get the best out of employees. Chromed Design Studio‘s latest creation at DLF Cyber City, Gurugram is everything the new generation has come to expect from a co-working space. With eccentric motifs, colourful patterns, unique seating arrangements and even graffiti, interspersed with strategically placed potted plants and chandeliers, the space is a haven of creativity for freelancers, entrepreneurs and established companies alike.

Here’s what the studio had to say about the design and architecture of Innov8:

The design is armed with premium lounge areas, an amphitheater, green ideation spaces, a mixed bag of seating arrangements and even a diverse library! Changing flooring patterns and finishes are a smart way to create boundaries, without these boundaries creating unwarranted segregation, while also adding to the functional and aesthetic value of the space. Dotting the well-lit, luxurious central seating with artificial yet artistic ferns makes it more visually appealing. The colour palette is neutral, with variations of warm shades. Strategically placed stepped seating to produce a mini open Amphitheatre calls for larger groups of discussions.

The external façade has long wide glass panels to capitalise on the available daylight for an adequately lit interior. The reception desk also has a character of its own, with its sleek design texture to create an immediate impact on visitors. Mirrors have also been integrated into the design scheme to establish a wider sense of space, further enhanced by high ceilings.

Eye catching chandeliers in repeated mirror reflections provide for an overall ambience enhancement. The actual office cabin workspaces have inspirational, sometimes metaphoric representations of ideas associated with work. These graphical representations are like artworks within themselves playing concepts of motivations, universal truths and their kind. With the cursive calligraphy of ‘Time Flies’ over the wall, abutted by two large intricate wall clocks on either side, one can see a hoard of handmade paper airplanes ‘flying’ off to a certain direction making for a space that inspires dreams.

Scenes from classic games like Mario and Angry Birds bring back fond memories of childhood—like a portal back to the time when our dreams were still taking shape. There are also small potted ferns placed all around the office to cheer people up, bring the outdoors indoors, and keep the air fresh. The lamps here have a unique tripod design which looks straight out of a Renaissance Artist’s house! Some of the other wall graffitis depict classics like Lion King, Batman and Harry Potter which allow for common topics of discussion to break the ice.
