AMOLAKH is a furniture studio rooted in four generations of woodworking heritage, founded by Maneesh Kumar in memory of his great grandfather, Shri Amolakh Das Suthar. Guided by the philosophy of “less is more”, the practice explores the potential of raw material through restrained forms, intuitive craftsmanship, and a deep respect for the natural character of wood, shaped by both ancestral knowledge and global design influences. At India Design ID 2026, AMOLAKH will present the Hero Chair, part of the evolving MKCH_01 series, developed through iterative experimentation to achieve exceptional structural lightness while maintaining strength, precision, and material integrity.
