Earth Café by Annkur Khosla Design Studio draws inspiration from its name and cuisine, featuring a distinct, contrasting dual colour scheme. The vegan establishment is a reflection of simplicity and organic nature, both in the food and in its minimalist, sustainable décor. The designer has beautifully illustrated the dichotomy of the Earth in terms of the northern and southern hemispheres while metaphorically referencing the yin and yang relationship. The result is a typically charming, vibrant, and comfortable space where an abstract concept finds harmonious representation.
“The polarity of the Earth inspired the duality in the interiors, where two independent colour schemes coexist in the same space,” explains the studio. A unique wall clock, a guitar, and a charming interspersion of greenery are other highlights of the café’s details. “Each colour is represented and coordinated completely in the flooring, ceiling, and furnishings to perceive it as an integrated whole,” they add. With a keen focus on sustainability, the café has ensured that it is completely plastic-free. The interior design contributed to this idea by reusing and recycling materials from the preexisting site.
