Set in the regal Taj Umaid Bhavan Palace, the three day gathering featured 40 of India’s leading design firms and a selection of bespoke product companies. The event, true to its name, created unique synergies, and opportunities for ideation and collaboration.

The opening night was marked by the unveiling of 30 signature table designs, created in the distinctive design language of the attending designers, in collaboration with Sankara. The Vivek Punjabi Visions Award, an annual recognition of the best 3D visualisation by a student from India’s colleges of architecture was bestowed upon Tamradhwaj Chandrakar from NIT. Over 400 entries had been received and judged by a panel including Shilpa Punjabi , Gayathri Shetty, Yatin Patel, Zarir Mullan, Sonali Bhagwati and Sanjay Puri, who selected three highly commendable entries, two runner-ups and the winner. A well known designer from Hyderabad, Supraja Rao, also curated an art show, with two large installations set amidst the poolside garden location.

The following two days featured presentations on the theme of Contextual Design by Yatin Patel, Seema Puri, Chandrashekhar Kanetkar, Nitin Killawalla, Sanjay Puri and others. In a keynote titled ‘Rooted in Culture Memory and Place,’ Maria Warner Wong of WOW Architects shared her design processes through a series of hospitality projects and homes.

As a fitting close to the intimate and engaging event, the final evening was hosted at the foot of the awe inspiring Mehrangarh Fort, which houses the best fort museum in the world within its majestic carved stone walls.
