Sunil began his career in India’s foremost advertising agencies, including Contract, McCann Erickson and O&M Delhi. During his tenure as Creative Director at O&M, he created and launched several major marketing initiatives, including Incredible India.

In 2004, Sunil founded ‘A’, which went on to become India’s most successful independent agency before merging operations with Wieden+Kennedy in 2007. As Executive Creative Director of W+K India, he helped build some of India’s strongest and best-loved brands.  He reinvented the low-fare airline model by creating an enhanced level of customer experience at IndiGo, India’s largest low fare carrier.

In 2014, Sunil responded to an urgent government brief by creating Make in India – a brand that instantly turned into a global movement. In September 2015, he moved to a Directorial role at W+K in order to start a new venture – Motherland Joint Ventures Pvt. Ltd.  He has helped make art forms more accessible by launching W+K Exp, an art gallery. Sunil has also started two editorial projects: Motherland, a theme-based magazine on Indian subcultures, and www.theindiatube.com, a travel website focused on local insight and firsthand experience of India. He is also a Founder Trustee of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale.
