Anisha Rachel Oommen is the founder and editorial director of Goya, an award-winning food and culture publication from the Indian subcontinent. Founded in 2016, Goya promotes home cooks, regional cuisines, and narratives from the margins, documenting culinary practices and Indian food cultures. Having spent her childhood in Bangalore, the coffee estates of Chikmagalur, and parts of Kerala, Oommen’s passions stem from the culinary flavours and cultures of Southern India. Goya is recognised for its ground-breaking work in culinary media, attracting audiences within the country and the diaspora. The publication was recently featured on The Guardian’s 2023 list of ‘30 things to love in the world of food’ for curating events and experiences that showcase unique culinary methods to a broader audience.
