Bent Chair’s flagship store in the capital is an unconventional visual treat

Helmed by father-daughter duo Natasha and Neeraj Jain, Bent Chair is best known for their eccentric designs and bold style, apart from being a one-stop-shop for furniture and decor accessories, with in-house manufacturing and online customisation facilities. Now, one of the ever-expanding brand’s latest retail outlets is also its first flagship store. Boasting a 01 pin code in the heart of the capital city, the space is best described as an unconventional visual treat.

To set the Janpath store apart from other outlets, Bent Chair curated an exclusive Flagship Collection for the studio, designs for which were inspired by the best of the brand. The store also features some of Bent Chair’s best collections, such as Lokalferi, Rocky Star, Metallic, Contemporary, Art, and more. The floors and walls feature muted and dark colours, highlighting the decor and designs without any visual distractions. Despite embracing maximalism as a theme, the flagship studio manages to present clashing elements seamlessly.

Natasha and Neeraj have designed the outlet to offer a unique retail experience to all their customers. The studio has been divided into several sections, each decorated and furnished to reflect the rooms of an apartment, allowing customers to envision the way it would look in their own homes. Featuring indoor-outdoor seating, with aesthetically relaxing plants hanging from a sunroof, there is an abundance of natural light in the store.

Placing emphasis on lighting, each section showcases lights that complement the overall concept of that particular space. Bent Chair’s flagship store is also host to a new line of end tables, sculptural lights, vibrant couches, an embellished wall art collection, large paintings, infinity mirrors and beaded art. Typically quirky elements such as the velvet line in the form of lights, inlaid cutting tables composed of onyx, marble and mother of pearl are also showcased. In addition, the studio also features a lot of the brand’s styling aids, with a wall dedicated to 700 kinds of upholstery and displays for other collections.

Another notable element is the introduction of a revolutionary styling agent—Bent Reality— an interactive screen that helps customers understand interior styling and acts as a personal guide for designing their homes. Topping it all off is a unique lifestyle centre, in collaboration with their distinctive retail-restaurant experience, Plum By Bent Chair, on the second floor.
