Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra
Principal Architect: Ahsan Ansari

This sea-facing residence in Mumbai, designed by Ahsan Ansari’s Clay Architecture & Interiors, is a testament to the designer’s eclectic-chic aesthetic. Bold, vibrant, and unequivocally contemporary, a functional shell of white marble flooring and grey wooden doors was enlivened with pops of colour, bright upholstery, and bespoke furnishings. In the powder room, a handcrafted mirror offset by Jean Paul Gautier’s skull wallpaper is just one of several signatures yet unconventional yet distinctly stylish ensembles that decorate the home.

In a brilliant orchestration of textures, materials, patterns, and colour, the studio has fashioned a multifaceted space for a couple with teenage boys. Although each room features an entirely different palette, the overall ambience of the home remains definitively harmonious. The quirky bookshelves, lighting fixtures, and antiquities which adorn the space are stylized representations of the passionate charm that defines this spatial experience.
