The Soaring Rock by SPASM Design Architects is an architectural composition that induces a sense of liberation. Building on the philosophy that houses are a celebration of life, the structure boasts expansive views of farmlands, the Kavaddhara reservoir, and the highlands, all of which make for immaculate sunset scenographies. Two simple planes are the fundamental framework of the living spaces, framing these stunning spectacles in alignment. A terracotta terrace and pool plane, also conceived as horizontal lines, act as a panoramic reflection. The defining factor for this residence is the spatial placement of a four-ton rock on the prong of a six-meter-long cantilever.

Homes celebrate life. They celebrate views, geographies, locales, climates, and much more. The emotion one feels on arrival at the crest of the site is one of liberation—an expanse. The same emotion is distilled through the placement of the four-ton rock that soars on the prong of a six-meter cantilever. The home predominantly faces the farmlands, Kavaddhara reservoir, and the highlands and is witness to the most colour-saturated sunsets. Living spaces are framed between two simple planes, framing the views as cleanly as possible. Another plane slips under to become a terracotta terrace and pool plane. Horizontal lines echo the nature of the panorama. Stating more would be a waste.
