Sussanne Khan’s newest project shows you how to live like a millionaire

As one of the most in-demand celebrity decorators in India and owner of lifestyle concept store The Charcoal Project, Sussanne Khan has designed several stunning residential projects, commercial spaces, destination villas and show apartments. Completed in all of four months, her newest assignment, a show home at Rustomjee Elements in Juhu speaks of her personal style, which involves a blend of industrial cool and edgy chic.

Here, Sussanne found her dream home and with the design, she hoped to create a space that others would want to call their own. When she first met Boman Irani and Percy Chowdhry of Rustomjee, she knew exactly what they wanted – a space that looks like a million bucks.

“The only theme I kept in mind was quiet luxury,” states the designer. She fused exotic elements like an earthy Nagaland panel and Tara artwork done by the monks in Bhutan, with a subtle colour palette, complete with shades of grey and taupe.

“We primarily used monochromatic hues,” she adds. “To be precise, 26 shades of white and 26 shades of black.” What adds to the charm of the space is the blend of woodwork and metals like nickel, black nickel, gold, bronze and stainless steel.

With all this and more, Sussanne achieved what very few can – a show home that is comforting with a lived-in feel.
